Default replacing catlytic converter

I bought a new convert for my 2001 grand caravan. Are there any suggestions on how best to unbolt the old converter. It appears that the top bolts are hard to get at from under the unit. I do not want to break anything. Right now I have soaked the nuts with thrust, and tapped on them with a small hammer. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Where are you located? A 2001 up here would require a torch to cut the bolts off.

So true...
Exhaust are the rustiest part of cars.

But I usually just use a very long extension and a flexible socket. If that doesn't work, I believe removing the Windshield Wiper assy will give you more rooms from the top to access the Converter nuts and bolt.
