Default Question regarding the FCM

Need some help. I'm having the typical headlight problem in my '05 GC. Low beams would not come on Friday night. High beams work as they should along with parking and fog lights. I searched the forum and tried cleaning the flat terminals on the FCM with no results (no noticeable corrosion on the terminals). The bulbs are also good. My question is how can I narrow it down to either a bad FCM or a bad switch. What other problems would show up with a bad FCM? $80 for the switch and no telling how much for the FCM. Would like to narrow it down before throwing a lot of money at it. Any advice you can offer would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Of course you have checked fuses and relays?

The fuse checked out ok. Not sure which relay controls the headlights though. Did pull the yellow master fuse for @ 5 sec to reset the door locks. Something that may be related is that @ a week ago my rear wiper stopped working properly. It "hangs up" for a second or two going in both directions. Works fine when depressing the washer. Could all of this be related to a failing body control module?

Default Update

OK, finally got the switch out without cracking the faceplate. Replaced with used switch believed to be good but no change - still no low beams (parking, high beam and fog lights work fine). So far I have checked the bulbs again (just replaced back in September), cleaned the terminals on the FCM (there was no visable corrosion). There is no fuse to check. At this point I'm thinking multi-switch in the steering column as the next possible culprit. Is there any way to check this switch before replacing ($53 at NAPA)? Any6 other thoughts?
