Tranny: 1997 31TH

Need some inside info from you 31TH experts here. Maybe Master Tech if he's around

I've had a fluid leak for quite some time now. It's gotten bad enough now that I'm going through about a gallon or so every 200 miles or so.

First, I am wondering what the known common issues are with this tranny?

And am I likely looking at a seal issue or is there another part, like the Transmission Control Solenoid that could be leaking? I here that it is very common with this tranny.

I have not been able to get it on a rack and can not tell from underneath where the leak is.

If it ends up being a seal issue, can you offer me some tips on replacing it?
