Question 2003 Caravan 2.4L P0340;p0344

My 03 Caravan is very hard to start. Turns over great. After a couple tries, MIL flashes 10 times. I try to start after flashing stops and sometimes it fires, sometimes it doesn't. I've replaced the MAP, CKP, CMP, cleaned the IAC valve, and I "think" I had the PCM re-flashed. I have 4.9V at the CMP, and CKP sensors terminals.
Question 1: How do I know if the dealer actually reflashed the PCM? Is there a different calibration number (or something) that could be verified than that from manufacturing?
Question 2: I also replaced the cam magnet from the dealer. Does anyone know if this is one of those sensors that you just can't rely on aftermarket? e.g. sometimes aftermarket O2 sensors aren't spec'd as perfectly as the actual dealer part.

Obviously, I'm trying to avoid replacing the PCM, so I'm trying to check everything else first. I'll replace the CMP sensor again with an OE part if necessary (much cheaper than the pcm).
Anyone have access to Identi-fix?
Thanks,
Matt

Once it starts does it run ok? If not you may want to look at the cam ring and see if it has slipped. May want to look at it regardless.

As far as I know the only way to determine if a PCM is updated is by using a DRBIII scanner. They are only available at dealerships and shops. They cost several thousand bucks.

I would give an edge to OEM electrical parts. Many use aftermarket sensors without a problem but I have read of nightmare scenarios where 3 sensors are changed before they found a good one.

Ok. Check this out. I've cleared the code several times now, and it cranks and runs great; for a while, then it skips and you have to accelerate slowly once you get to 30 mph till you get to 60. It idles beautifully with no issues. Even now it will crank as it should but you have to accelerate slowly or it bucks.
By the cam ring are you referring to the magnet? It locks in place with two tabs and cannot be installed upside-down - I tried, to make sure I had installed it correctly the first time. My scanner is showing the cam in sync at start, but not the crank. It's also showing the cam/crank difference to be -7.0 to -6.7 degrees. Can this be right and it still run properly?
