Default AC compressor not working, no cool air

I tried my AC a few days ago on my 2003 Caravan, and the air is not getting cool. I don't hear the compressor coming on. Last year, the refrigerant was low, so I charged it, and it worked fine for the rest of the summer. Now, I get nothing but warm air. What should I check for?

Check Freon level. Maybe you got a leak somewhere, and it leaked out over the winter.

If you put a dye in the A/C system when you charged it then a black light will show the traces of dye from the leak. If not then put the dye in when you re-charge the system so you will find the leak easily next time.

Good luck.

I checked the pressure and it was zero. I was able to get it up to 25 psi, by adding 3 cans of freon. The compressor is now coming on. I guess I have a leak somewhere. I added some red dye, but was unable to detect any leaks from where I could see. Any suggestions about where to check for leaks?

The evaporator under the dash or in the rear is the usual culprit if you don't see leaks elsewhere. The Condenser in front of the radiator takes a lot of punishment.

This stuff is probably beyond my knowledge. Looks like I may have to take it to a shop and prepare for a raping!
