Default Front Blower Motor

In trying to get the blower motor out for replacement, and folowing the directions in my OTC van manual, I still can't get the bottom motor case off. There seams to be something holding it in the back, which the manual did not say there was a screw in the back. Unable to see behind the motor case as no room to see. Can't feel anything that would be holding it. Have also removed all electrical items that was on the lower blower case. Also I have the automatic temperature control for my A/C, heater. Thanks for any help.

There is a screw in the back. Some people loosen the housing, pull it forward and remove the screw. I just break it off. Once that is the only screw left, push the recirculation door up through the bottom cover and give it a little twist. Make sure it isn't cold, the plastic gets brittle. Those are pretty much your choices.

There is a recess in the insulation on the firewall that the screw goes into so no way of getting to it unless the housing is pulled back. Only pays 0.6 hrs warranty time so that ain't happening. Snap, crackle, pop it is.
