2005 caravan ..had spare chip key made[no fob] so whenever I use this key in the car it disables the fob key[ for locking and locking doors]Have to use fob key in the ignition then thelock/unlock works..Locksmith said has something to do with theft feature..does anyone know how to fix this?

 

You can get an electronic owner's manual for your vehicle from here: http://www.dodge.com/en/owners/manuals/ about page 15 there is a description of the programming procedure for your car keys. They must all be programmed at the same time. The fob is also programmed with the key in the same procedure.

So it appears key and fob are married in the programming. You may need another fob for your extra key and program all keys and fobs again to fix your problem.
