Talking 94 Dodge Ram B250 Toggle switch starting

Hey guys im looking for a little help. im wondering if its possible to toggle switch my who starting system in my 94 dodge ram b250 3.9L.

I know its usually only in race cars but i think it would be nice to have some toggle switchs and a push buttom.

Will it mess with the computer at all?

and if not how would i go about wiring it and what switches would i need?

So you want to eliminate the ignition switch?

This is in the wrong forum; perhaps a mod could move it to the Ram forum. But since the answer to your question would apply to pretty much any car...

Yes, I suppose it's possible. You would need the switch(es) and push button, space on your dash for those items to go, and wire. Also butt splice connectors, solder, proper cutting/stripping tools, etc. I'd strongly recommend a wiring diagram so you know what wires do what. With a '94 if you do it right it shouldn't mess with the computer.

One thing you need to consider here is whether doing this would compromise the security of your vehicle. If you were to fully bypass the ignition cylinder for a toggle switch and push button then you've just defeated one of your vehicle's security features: the ignition key. Even if the car has a sophisticated alarm system installed, layers are the key (no pun intended) to a good automobile security system and it's not wise to defeat any layers. I have seen a setup where they only bypassed the "start" position with a push button, and left the ignition on/off control in the ignition cylinder, but with that setup you would need to ask why you would want to make it more difficult to start your car.

I'm not going to try to persuade you not to spend your money to do what you want to do to your car, but I just want to make sure you had totally thought this through.
