Angry Crankshaft pushing out seal

2005 caravan, 2.4L (4 Cyl)

Help, It seems that my crankshaft is vibrating and pushing out the main seal. I took it to a shop and they replaced it twice and then told me I have too much crankshaft end play.

Can this be repaired, How?

It might be repairable, it might not be. It all depends on the root cause of the end play. How did the shop determine the end play was "too much"? Did a guy grab the harmonic balancer pulley and rock it back and forth, or did he actually use a dial gauge or feeler gauge to determine it? If you didn't get an actual end play number I suspect it's the former. Assuming he's telling the truth, if a mechanic can tell that you have "too much" end play without using a dial gauge or feeler gauges then it's really out of spec and I'd suspect the crankshaft or possibly the block is toast.

If it is repairable at all, you're in for an expensive repair.
