1995 Dodge Caravan Tranny issues?
Okay, this is really odd.
after we turned off a freeway the van shuttered and the transmission completly failed. It went in gear but went extreemly slow in all gears. we had to tow it home...
after we let the tranny oil cool, all gears worked except reverse. We checked the oil, it was brown, with a slight (very slight) burn smell. we replaced it. there was a couple TINY metal shavings in the pan, Pin head TINY.
STILL NO REVERSE! It shifts in reverse, but it goes 5 mph maybe...?
We hope we dont have to rebuild the tranny.....
its automatic 4 speed.
Oh.. now all gears work for 5-10 mins then the the car goes back to being slow. turn car off and back on gears are fine.
Exept the reverse...................
