Question brake job

I have a 2011 caravan that is driving me nuts. trying to do a rear brake job, and I can't get the caliper off the rotor. i check ed the emergency brake and it was off. It's not locked up, just wont come off. Is there something different in the process for the caravan?

ok not sure what you mean emergency brake? I assume 2012 be like the 2010. pull tire, remove caliper, remove pads, remove pad supports, then you see the rotor. it should come off with a little bit of a smack. check in the hub if they have now 2 screws just to hold rotor? I don't think so but could be wrong.

Sounds like he's having trouble getting the caliper off to get at the brake pads, not the rotor.

All I had to do with my 2008 was remove the caliper-to-bracket bolts and after some coaxing it came right off. Was the caliper hard to remove on both sides?

If you're sure the caliper isn't stuck or seized then double check you have removed the correct bolts. Sounds silly, but I've missed stupid things like that before.

If the rotor has a big ridge worn in it, the calipers can be tough to get off. A block of wood and a hammer do wonders.

opps sorry, ya the cable for the rotor e brake does put some strain on it that it harder to remove those rears. I just use a big pry screw driver and lift. removed a support bracket bolt too. don't try removing the e brake cable. think people said hard to re install.
