fuel line connector different
I have a '95 Caravan. I'm trying to replace the fuel pump that went bad. The fuel line connectors are different than what everyone seems to describe. I have the nylon spring loaded with tabs, so the tool that you insert does not work. The connections are really corroded, so now I'm at a loss. Do I need the fuel coupling pliers or is there some other way to disconnect them? Because the connector is nylon and the assembly is corroded, I am not sure if the pliers will even budge it without snapping the tabs. Penetrant does nothing. I really want to avoid a complete line replace. Money is tight and our mechanic said $300-400, but thought I could do it myself for the price of the pump ~$100. Would appreciate any and all good advice. Love this van. Bought it used and it is a workhorse. Also have a funny shimmy when making med. speed left turns. CVs replaced. Does that sound like motor mounts? Mechanic said it was the tires, but new tires did not fix the problem. Did I say I was new to the forum, and also new to doing my own repairs? Out of work and can't afford major trouble with this vehicle. Thanks for any help.
