My 2009 caravan tailgate will not latch. When I manually close the latch I can easily pull it open with a screwdriver. I first noticed it trying to close the gate and immediately I could open it again with slight resistance but then the latch would give and open. Anyone have any ideas to fix the problem or am I going to have to purchase a new latch?

 

would have to take it appart to tell but most likely a new latch
