what is the part called that snaps into the top of the tranny that shows what gear you are in it's a cable with a snap on plug, the clips that hold in on is broke, so when I try to shift it sometimes it goes to drive and then it won't go back into park unless I push this plug back in. it's a cable that comes from the shifter on the steering column(this is on the top of the tranny) I have a 2000 dodge grand caravan with a 3.0 engine and its a two wheel drive and 14 inch wheels. I just need to know what is called so I can buy a replacement

 

Called the transmission shift cable. Goes from a bracket on the column through the fire wall to the bracket on the transmission.
