Default 97 GCaravan O2 sensor removal

Im looking for suggestions for removing the dreaded upstream O2 sensor.
Spent a few hours scraping off fresh skin and am wondering if anyone has real life experience to pass on.
I have a O2 socket.
Can it be done from the top?
Down underneath is not getting the job done. No room for rachet turns.
How about removing the plenum?
The sparkplugs were easy compared to this.

Thanks in advance.

The best way to go is to remove the wiper assembly from the vehicle. Use your O2 socket, a 12" or so extension and a good ratchet. You may have to use a swivel at the extension end of the O2 socket. You gain some room, but it is still tight back there. You could remove the plenum if you feel you can't access it.

Wow,
A good answer, But not the answer I was hoping for. At least removal is easier than the plenum.
I will check into it this weekend.
Any other idea's?

Thanks again.
