Please help 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan
Hello I have a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan. I am having a problem with my cluster panel. Nothing in the cluster is working other than the lights. The digital readouts, and turn signals do not work either. I have searched the forums high and low for what is causing this. so far what i have found is that it could be the Body Control module, the cluster panel or in the fuse box. I have looked in the fuse box for and bad fuses as well as loose wires or corroded wiring. I didn't find anything. I found a used Body Control Module with same part # on Ebay for $50 they said it tested fine. I put it in and nothing, same problem. I called the place I bought it from and they said they have had many problems with them not working in other vehicles. Luckily they gave me a refund. I then found a good used cluster panel another $50. just got it today and same thing. I used a light tester and found that there is no power going to the cluster other than the lights. I cannot afford the high prices that a dealer charges so I have to get this done. I called the dealer and they told me that each bcm and computer in a vehicle is coded with a vin for that vehicle. What I was wondering is if the computers are conflicting with each other and that is why the used BCM i have would not work. If that is the case would getting a computer AND BCM from the same vehicle at a junk yard would work. or are there other computers in the Van that would cause it not to. If anyone has any answers please help.
