Default 2000 Grand Caravan Fuel Indictor 'dinging' intermittently - on FULL tank???

Not sure when this started, I thought initially there was a batch of bad gas, or water got in the tank somehow. After starting it up, it starts beeping, the fuel light flashes. The indicator shows an accurate level (I filled it up 2 days ago) BUT, drove 45 minutes away from my home and back, it never stopped dinging the whole ride. Just every few minutes it'll ding.

I can't seem to find anything that shows up as replaceable.... Can anyone offer suggestions on this?

Is there any chance your odometer might be displaying the message "9A5CAP" (gas cap)? That has happened to me a few times. Evidently it is easy to screw it on crooked.

No I haven't seen anything like that at all.

Is there anyone that can advise me on the location of the wire I need to cut (temporarily) to disable this? The gas gauge is working fine.
Thanks

Cut wire? That's a no go. A single wire from the pump to the BCM controls both the "dinger" and the gauge. Cut that wire and you loose the gauge too and you'll likely have a constant CE light.

Typically this is caused by the sender in the fuel tank and you'll see the gauge dip as it dings. Could be it's happening too fast for the gauge to show the typical symptom.

The 'gascap" indication didn't apply to 3rd generation vans (1996-2000).

ok, I kind of figured that may not be a wise idea. The past few times I have had time, it's had over a half tank, and too heavy to drop, and when it's low.... I haven't had time to drop it.

"typically / could be" Wish I could be more definitive. The only other players are the BCM and cluster. Unfortunately, the only way I know of to determine the true source of the problem is to use a DRBIII scanner ($$$) at the dealer or well equipped shop. You could try either pulling the IOD fuse or disconnecting the negative battery cable for 2-3 minutes to reset the BCM and data bus. A long shot but an easy trick.
