2005 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT
I bought my GC with only a sentry key and wanted to purchase a remote for keyless entry. I can do without the remote, but it gets annoying with the alarm going off every time I lock the car and then open it. So I went to the dealer and purchased a key along with the whole programming job. After about five unsuccessful trips to the dealer (because they could not program it) they said I had a bad BCM. So I purchased a used BCM from ebay, installed it and went back to the dealer. As anyone can guess from me posting this message the programming still failed. They said the BCM might have to be flashed, something to do with software. The weird thing about this whole situation is when I have the sentry key in the ignition (ON position) the new remote that I purchased works. When I remove the sentry key(nothing in the ignition) the remote does not work. Any ideas.
Stew108,
Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the Dodge Forum!
As the dealer advised it may have to be flashed to be compatible with your vehicle. Have you had that completed at the dealer yet?
Did it resolve your concerns?
