The hatch back on my 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan won't open. How do I repair it. I need detailed instructions. Thank you.

 

Head to your local library and take out the 2000 Caravan service manual. The instructions are very detailed.

 

There is a piece on the back side of the outside handle that slides back and forth and that is how the door is locked and unlocked. That slide gets all rusty and corroded and gets stuck in the locked position. There is a little plug in the hatch panel so you can access the latch and get the hatch open. Then remove the panel, couple of screws in the handle and the rest are snap connectors. Lube and clean the slide and see how it works, sometimes the handle has to be replaced.
