Default No Heat on Grand Caravan 2007?

Hi Gang!

Did the reset on our Grand Caravan 2007 where you held down the PWR and recirculation button for 5 seconds. It went through its testing, blah, blah, but still even after 10 minutes no heat.

Any clue what I should be testing next?

thank you!

Thanks! Checked the coolant level. All is good there. Not sure where and how to check the thermostat. I remember the AC was working fine but that might use a different thermostat...

Thanks!

Thermostat controls the coolant flow. It is at the engine side of the top hose. When coolant reaches 195 degrees, the thermostat opens allowing coolant to flow. The upper hose should go from cool to hot then you know it opened. If it gradually gets hotter, the t-stat is stuck open

....and your engine temperature gauge will have a much slower rise to normal temps.

Something really strange.
So I checked the top thick hose that's connected to the engine and the front radiator. It was cold in the 10 min of the engine running at idle.

Then... I check the coolant... empty! Ran to the gas station, bought a gallon, and while the engine was running I filled the coolant to the max, but as the engine was running, the level was visibly going down to the point that it was all gone. Nothing leaked under the car.
I always suspected that they check the fluid levels when I bring the car in for an oil change. I was wrong.
But the heat in the cabin started working! Today I'll buy some more coolant and top it off again. I'll get back with details on what happens with it next.

thanks!
