"Ticking" noise - alternator?
Hello,
I have an '06 Dodge Grand Caravan. 117,000 miles. There is a noise that comes from the passenger side in the engine area. It's a sort of constant surge that is barely audible, but is there. It is more pronounced when you stop. The best way I can describe the noise is maybe a "power surge" or something "clacking" in the front.
Is it possible it could be the alternator? I was told by someone that could be the problem. There are zero problems starting the van or running it, it just makes that noise, and it wasn't there at 95,000 miles when we got it. (Started about 100,000 miles or so).
I just replaced plugs and wires (using the Champion plugs) today, and didn't solve it.
Thanks for any thoughts.
