The check engine light just came on and I realized I have no idea how to pull the trouble codes out of a 2011 caravan.

The key dance from my OBD days does not work.

I found a YouTube video where you hold the reset switch and turn the ignition switch and a tonne of stuff happens, it tests all the lights and gauges and displays software version information, but no apparent trouble codes.

FYI... this model year has the CAN bus network.

My caravan is still under warranty but I like to know what is going on before I take it to the dealer.

Any ideas on how to get the codes out of a 2011?

 

A scanner or code reader capable of reading codes off a CAN data bus. Most are. Many auto parts stores will scan and read your codes for free.
