I have a 2001 dodge caravan when I come to a stop and go to take off the van does not shift out of second gear. The codes I am getting on it are p0732, p1790, p0731 and p0720. saying gear ratio error and fault immediately after shift. What does this mean and how can I fix it? fluids are fine and do not smell burnt. When I shut it off and turn it back on it is fine again until I stop.

 

I'm not a huge transmission guy but I'm pretty sure you have speed sensor issues. I would replace the input and output speed sensors and see if that fixes your problem. They are on the front of the transmission just below the cooler lines. Not to tough to replace.
