[5th Gen : 08+]: Sound deadening
I've owned the man van ('12 GC SXT) for about 3 months now and have come to the conclusion that the interior is about as soundproof as a tin roof in the rain. I have unlimited access to dynamat style sound deadener at work, but was wondering if anyone has used an expanding foam in the A and B pillars to cut some of the noise? I've read that "Great Stuff" will work, and have also read that the "Great Stuff" isn't...great....stuff.....
Anyway, anyone have any experience with this?

I've used expanding foam to keep the elements out of a rusty caravan I kept to get myself a new degree. It held fast even though directly exposed in some areas (yeah, it was that rusted out) and yes I believe it helped reduce cabin noise remarkably. You might want to make sure you don't gum up the works, though. It wouldn't be fun to dig through it to find a wire and would easily clog up window function.
I used it in the rear wheel wells.

I also have a 2012 GC SXT which has rattles galore I have been chasing. I cant add to your question about using expanding foam but I was considering pulling off the panels and using dynamat type sound deadener. I know from experience using that product though, that it is very expensive. Do you have any advice for me as to where to obtain a similar product which is cheaper than dynamat. Also can you explain to me where the "A" and "B" pillars are located you referred to.
We use a knock off at work that works just as well called "Road Kill" by Stinger. It's still pricey but not near as much as dynamat is. The a pillars are the posts between the windshield and the front doors, and the "B" pillars are the posts between the front and rear doors
