Default 2006 Dodge Caravan EGR replaced twice and still codes p0404!!

I started getting the engine code P0404 in my 3.3 liter 2006 Grand Caravan and I've replaced the EGR valve twice now in 5 days, changed the plugs and wires, and the engine light still keeps coming on. I have driven well over 200 miles and thoroughly cleaned the tube between the upper intake and the EGR itself with a pipe brush and air. After replacing the EGR again last night and a 25 mile test drive the van finally ran smoother than it has in months, then as I drove to work this morning the engine light came on again and sure enough code P0404. Dammit!!!
Somebody please help, I'm going nuts! Anyone have this same issue?

You may want to take a quick check of your ground wires. I know I've stated it before but I can't recommend it enough.

You can also test your egr valve with a 9 Volt battery and see the actuation and hear the click. It doesn't move that much.
