Default 98 caravan 3.0 crankcase ventilator hose

Hey, I'm new here so I hope I'm doing this right. Anyway, here's my problem. My 98 Grand Caravan 3.0 is missing a hose. The hose goes from the side of the air cleaner (there is a fitting on the left side of the access cover) to I believe the PCV valve at the rear of the engine. My local dealer sold me a hose (part #4621690) and said this is the crankcase ventilator hose. If is flared at one end and the flare fits the fitting on the air cleaner access cover. It's a molded hose and it then goes across the top of the motor then bends 90 degrees down to the rear of the motor. The problem is that after the bend the hose is too short to reach anything. I can feel back there and find what I believe to be the PCV valve but the hose is too short to reach it. So either thats not where it connects (but a Dodge parts guy told me thats where it connects) or I was sold the wrong hose. I called another dealer and he told me that the correct part #is MD143606 but that hose is a smaller diameter and is only a real short hose with a 90 degree bent in it (about 4" long
on each side of the bend.) Any helpful information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Default RE: 98 caravan 3.0 crankcase ventilator hose

That first hose they gave you is the right one, maybe you do not have it routed properly? The fitting on the rear valve cover is just a vent, the pcv is at the end of the 90 degree elbow hose (the second one you got). It doesn't go over the top of the motor. I believe it goes under the upper intake manifold and out the back side of the engine right by the fitting it attaches to.
