[3rd Gen : 96-00]: Parking lights staying on
Hi this is my first post I have a 1997 Dodge Caravan and I can't get the parking lights to stay off unless I turn the key just enough so that they go off. What is the cause of this and what should I do to fix it?
Ideally you get a meter on the circuit while referencing a diagram and see where you're getting power when you shouldn't. Wish we lived in an ideal world. If you would like the diagrams send me a private message and include an email address to send them to.
Next best choice would be the obvious one, the ignition switch, since as you say you tweak it and the lights go out. It supplies power to the flasher module and the module distributes power to the lights. Other than that the BCM could be holding power on the parking lights relay or the relay itself could be sticking. Try swapping it with another identical relay on the relay panel in the PDC (fuse box).
