does it matter if a trans came out of a car with a 3.0l or does it have to be from a mini van

It kind of matters. If both vehicles are 96 and newer you are ok, as long as they are both either 3 speeds or 4 speeds. Pre 96 there was no rear motor mount, so you could go from a 96 to a 95, but not the other way. What years are the vehicles?

It would be helpful to know what year the car is, and you just have to make sure they are both the same. There is no real good way to drain the torque converter as there isn't a drain plug on it, basically tip it over and let it sit at about a 45 degree angle upsidedown for awhile. You can't get it all out.

You'll probably only be able to get a quart in there, just the way its laid out it hard to fill it.
