Smile Brakes lights Stay On Always

First post here guys, and I hope you can help me out...

I really hope someone can help me out here....

I just installed a new master cylinder and booster on a 99 Caravan, and i thought everything went smoothly. Brakes felt good and car is working fine, but the i turned the car off, and walked around the back of the vehicle to notice the brake lights were ON. It took me a second to realize I had the keys in my hand, and the brakes lights were on.

They were ON full bright, like if someone was sitting in the car and pressing on the brake pedal. Checked all the fuses under the dash board, and non are blown...

What did I do wrong, and how do I fix this.....

Any and all help is appreciated....Thank You

Don't see any connection to your MC and booster change unless you damaged a wire harness in the vicinity. Could be the brake light switch on the brake pedal. Put your ear down there. Should hear two clicks, on/off as you apply and release the brake pedal. Here's a video for a 2002 van. He gets to the switch at about the 4:30 mark. Yours will be similar:

STOP LAMP SWITCH - removal and installation (These are the directions for your 99.)
REMOVAL

Remove the switch from the bracket by depressing the brake pedal and rotating the switch in a counter-clockwise direction approximately 30 degrees. Pull the switch rearward and remove from bracket. Disconnect wiring harness connector.
INSTALLATION

Before installing the switch, reset the adjustable switch plunger by pulling on the plunger head until the plunger reaches the end of its travel. A ratcheting sound will be heard during this procedure.

Connect the wiring harness to the switch. Mount the switch into the bracket by holding the switch with the plunger facing forward in car. There is an index key on the switch that mates with the bracket slot at the top of the square hole. Align key and push switch into square hole in bracket while depressing the brake pedal. Once the switch is seated in the hole, rotate clockwise approximately 30 degrees to lock into place. The switch will automatically adjust when the pedal is released. Pull back on the pedal to assure correct adjustment. Thanks to EBSCO ARRC

BINGO....

It had something to do with the brake light switch.
For some reason the rod coming from the brake booster, which connects to the brake pedal, was a bit short. Which led to the brake pedal not making contact with the brake switch. I made a small adjustment and OFF go the lights, so we're back to normal.

Thanks a lot buddy.

Ugh. Forgot it was adjustable. Course I've only changed one brake booster and don't recall having to adjust it. Good to hear all is well.
