motor up grade

my motor broke down and i want to know what year motor i can drop in my 2001 grand caravan 3.3L with out going though a lot of changes

Why not drop the same 3.3L that came out of it?

+1 on that. The 3.3 was at the top of it's game in the early 2000's, 180hp 210ft-lbs. Later ones (2008+) only ran 175hp 205ft-lbs.

Just find another 3.3 and replace it. Years should be 01-07.
