Key still sticks!

Why does the key still stick in the ignition after I have replaced the lock cylinder? Any help would be great. The van has 450,800 miles on it; 2nd motor.

Key won't come out unless vehicle is in park. Could that be the problem (i.e. shift cable adjustment)? or if it is just the lock cylinder and key, spray some graphite product that is specially made for locks.
