[4th Gen : 01-07]: 2002 Dodge Carava P0601 PCM Issues
Engine light came on yesterday and read P0601 which suggests a bad PCM. After driving all day, the light actually went out but code is still stored. I have another PCM out of a 2001 Chryster T&C but from prior tests, the PCM will not control my EGR valve either because that PCM might also bad or there is a compatibility issue. Assuming the 2001 Chryster T&C PCM is good, can I just install it, drive the van to my local dealer, and have them reflash it to work with my van?
Also - does anyone know if I can pass Connecticut emissions with this code being stored? The light is not illuminated but the code is still there and it's time for emissions!! For OBDII vehicles, CT emissions stations just plug in an OBDII reader to see if everything is functioning so they will probably see this code and fail me unless they only look for certain codes relating to the EGR, evap, and exhaust systems.
