[4th Gen : 01-07]: 02 Caravan Failed 41TE
Hello folks,
I have researched this to death, and am still confused.
The 41TE in my 02 caravan finally failed at 289,383 miles. I consider myself lucky! Hard part failure of some type, not sure what yet, still in the vehicle.
I have a friend that has a brand new trans out of a 97 voyager, 3.3L, 41TE. with less than 100 miles on it that he scrapped when the oak tree fell on it. vin# 2P4GP44R3TR839656
My 02 FWD has a 3.3L, 41TE. Will it fit. I have seen that reman outfits list the 41TE fit 06-02, 07-02, 07-01 etc. so the best I can see is maybe?
Would be a great deal (free) if I can use it. But unsure if it will bolt up, electrical connectors match, etc.
Does anyone have a definitive answer? I would be very appreciative for any help.

It's important to realize there were probably at least two castings for the 41TE just in 02 alone, to go with the different block castings.
Also buying one with less than 180k on it and matching casting number would probably be around $450. Brand new from a parts house around $1,700.
I own nothing but 4th gens and do all my own work. Only because 5th gens are rarely under 5k and all the older gens are quirky with their electrical systems and transmissions.
Someone with access to a tech database can probably give you a list of casting numbers, but if not you're going to be trying this free trans out risking the labor and time if it doesn't match physically. I've swapped trans with engine and used the old TCM where both were 41TE.
