Default P06DA Code - Oil Pressure Solenoid

I have a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.6 Mainstreet Flex fuel with a check engine light on. I had diagnostics ran and it came back saying this solenoid had high resistance. Apparently the solenoid cannot be replaced without replacing the oil pump. The only place to buy the oil pump looks to be the dealer for $202.00. The dealer Labor is $494.86 without oil, gasket etc. So about $750.00 in all to get this check engine light off. I can't get my state emissions passed without being able to get the light and code off.
I just got laid off last week after 12 years, so I have time to change it myself. My plates have since expired, so I am in need of some quick advice. How hard is this job and how long does it take on average? Also is there a possibility of replacing that solenoid or getting the code to come off without replacing the oil pump?

Thanks jkeaton, I did see that the other day. I think I was hoping for a magic genie or something to grant me three wishes. One wish might be for the government to get their head out of their donkey. I have a scanning tool that I don't remember costing more then $200.00. When I get my emissions checked in the nice brick complex you would think that after all the hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on equipment and training and all that, that the government would be able to tell you what the code means, and know that it doesn't have anything to do with emissions. No they just say, "your little light is on". "we're not going to be able to pass you".
I think more then anything, I had to vent. smiles...........
