A few months ago my check engine lite came on. Reading indicated transmission Solenoid. A week later the engine lite went out (little did I know it burnt out) so continued driving it for quite some time. While I was driving home I was turning left and when I went to accelerate it would not accelerate I pulled over put it in park then revers no reverse and wont go forward. Turned it off restarted it, it will drive about 2 car lengths. We did replace the transmission solenoid but same problem. Anyone have ay ideas before I tow it to the shop.

 

It would help to know your van's model year, as well as which engine and transmission it has.

Did you fix the CEL bulb, is it still on, what is the code?

 

I have a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan extended 3.3L V6 I have no idea what the transmission is in it would be the original transmission as I’m the only owner. Bulb is not replaced waiting for my son to come back and change all that. He’s out of town) Also after he replaced the solenoid he unplugged the battery so everything would reset so I don’t know what a new scan will pick up, usually I think you have to drive it for awhile. I will see if I can find the original codes that we came up with.
