[4th Gen : 01-07]: Cooling light came on with no codes given.
I have a 2003 Grand Caravan Sport with a 3.8L engine. Recently while driving around home, my cooling light came on. The water temp gauge never moved above it's normal running temp. I immediately took it to my mechanic and had it checked out. I was told that Dodge is notorious for having this problem occur. I never knew about this warning light since I have always knew to keep an eye on the gauge. Do I really need to have this light or can I have it unconnected? In using my code equipment I got no code. I am from the old school where I never had a light but just the gauge.
has anyone run into this type of situation ?

I also have a '03 sport with a 3.8l. Never had this problem. Seems electrical or sensor since it's not actually running hot.
I forget the farenheight these get. You can actually get it with a $4 bluetooth OBMII off ebay and the Torque App for Android. I remember after parking mine a while it was 70 or 90 at startup then I believe it went up to 219 after some sitting still revs or something.
If you have the money you can have a technician do thermal imaging to see if there is a hot point maybe, but this is unlikely because it's aluminum and it syncs well..
