Default Air Conditioner problems

So first off hello everyone, new member here so might have some noob questions.

My problem is with my girlfriends 07 Grand Caravan with the 3.8l. The other day her A/C started blowing hot air so I figured it was low on R-134A. well tried adding some but wouldnt take it. acting like it was clogged or something. So I hooked up a vacuum pump and evacuated the system and it took a Quarter of a small can and then acted like it was clogged. What do you guys think it could be. Im at a loss. i know alot about cars but hardly anything on A/C system components.

THanks

does the compressor engage when you are trying to fill it?

Tizzy1, yes it does engage, I changed the expansion valve the other day and still doesnt work. I was possibly thinking the condenser or if there is a sensor on the somewhere. Im not really sure

So no gauges I'm assuming. You are connected to the line in front of the fan right off the compressor. Can't think of many issues where you wouldn't at least be able to charge the system. Would need to know the pressures to figure it out from here.
