[General]: Mastercool or Yellow Jacket manifold gauges?
I'm looking for a good set of manifold gauges to use at home, on my 2007 GCaravan SXT and 2004 GTO. I added a can of R134 to the van a couple of years ago with some crappy gauge that came with the can and it still works well, but I just had the compressor replaced on a GTO I bought last month and it doesn't blow cold enough for my preferences. I need some gauges that will last me a while, and I like tools so I tend to overspend on them, but I'd like to get a good set for around $100. People seem to like Mastercool, but others say Yellow Jacket is the best. I can get a nice set of mastercool 66773 gauges for around $80-90. For the yellow jacket, I'm going to have to buy the hoses separately to be able to get 72" hoses with a moderately priced set of gauges, but yellow jacket sells directly on amazon - I can get one of their sets for around $110-140. Is it worth it to spend the extra money to get the yellow jackets for home use?
By the way, I realize I may have other issues besides adding some freon at this point, but right now I'm just concerned about getting some good gauges for my tool collection. I'll worry about the other issues later. thanks for any advice!
