Hey guys. I, like so many, am having problems with my 2005 caravan door switches. But unlike most people that are having issues with the locks not working at all, my switches work fine on the passenger side but the drivers side lock switch is acting really strangely. it will unlock no problem but it will not lock when I press the switch down. it will lock however if I press the unlock and hold it for 3 seconds. Then all the doors lock. I find this very weird. I have changed the switch out with two other I grabbed from a scrapyard but those didn't work either nor would they do what my switch is doing with holding the unlock for 3 seconds to lock. I thought maybe the issue could be this van did have the firmware flash, I don't know when, but it's just not taking and problems are arising again.


I have found info on the web that suggests the main junction box under the hood needs replacing because it corrodes out. One person said he replaced his and all his electrical issues went away. I checked mine and there is corrosion on most of the connections under there. I could try cleaning it out with some contact cleaner and see what happens. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this exact issue with their locks. Any other ideas?
