[5th Gen : 08+]: Intermittent opening on power sliding door
Hello all,
I bought a brand new 2014 Grand Caravan and had it converted right away into a wheelchair van by Braunability.
A few weeks after getting back the van I started having intermittent opening of the power sliding door (passenger side). The door would open about midway, stop then reverse. Each time I try to open the door it would go a bit further. Eventually, after 4-5 tries, the doors open fully.
I was able to capture the problem in a video:

I went to our local Braun dealer to have it checked. Unfortunately when the van is in the shop it worked flawlessly. According to Braun and my local Chrysler dealer, there is no sensitivity adjustment on the door sensitivity in these model (5th gen). Not sure if that is BS or not.
The dealer brushed me off saying this is a problem with the Braun modification. Braun used the factory door module and motor from Chrysler (only extending the track an extra 6-inch for the wheelchair ramp) and basically suggest I go back to my Chrysler dealer.
Anyway, it seems to be more frequent after the door has not been used for a while although I had the problem happening at random intervals. I had the problem with the van parked in a slope (forward and backward) as well on a very flat parking spot.
Anyone having a similar problem with their doors? Any suggestions how to proceed?
Regards,
Eric
