Default SRS light on/off when turning Steering Wheel

I have 2 issues I'm looking for tips on. I just had this 2004 Caravan powertrain out and rebuilt although that has nothing to do with my post. The SRS light has always been on and gives one audible ding seconds after startup. It does not give a MIL or pending MIL with either of my scanners. I was looking in to this yesterday and as I was turning the steering wheel it shut off. I turned it again and it came back on. Now the steering column has a clicking sound. That is one part of my issue. The other is that the turn signal does not shut off automatically. I'm considering pulling the column apart assumming that maybe the SRS has a wire getting caught up in the column for the airbag sensor. Does anyone have any knowledge on this? I'm not quite sure what i'm going to run in to.

I've found the issue. The clockspring wires are loose causing the airbag sensor to short. Dodge at work trying to execute soccer moms. And no recall on 2001+.

Glad you found the culprit quickly but I have to ask who is it who's trying to execute soccer moms, Dodge or a Dodge owners who ignore warning lights that is if it stayed on after the initial self test at start up.

Takes a specialized scanner to read SRS codes.
