[4th Gen : 01-07]: Phantom Wipers // Wipers Wont Stop...
I own a 2002 Dodge Caravan SE (3.3L, V6).
Some time back the windshield wipers suddenly came on and kept wiping despite the switch being off. Even turning off the vehicle did not stop the wipers. We had to disconnect the wiring just to get the wipers to stop. After removing and reinserting the respective relays the wipers went back to normal. The problem has returned since.
Today i went out to start the car to discover there was this clicking noise coming from the car. The car was off (no key) but it sounded like the time when u go to the car to start it but there is no juice and all u hear are clicks. But this was happening without anyone being in the car and no ignition.
I then went to start the car and of course nothing happened. I then attached the jump starter unit to begin charging the battery. If i remember correctly the wipers started up despite the multifunction switch being off.
Unless there is some other way for something to drain the battery i suspect it is this Phantom Wiper thing happening again.
What TEST can i do fix this issue? Is it a RELAY issue or the WIPER MOTOR itself? I tend to diagnose these things wrong winding up waisting more money so if anyone can point me in the right direction. I'm happy to run some more tests BUT AS OF NOW the wipers are working fine and the battery is full recharged.
Thanks

I would like to track down the reason for my Phantom Front Wipers issue. I pulled the FRONT WIPER ON RELAY and the FRONT WIPER HI/LO RELAY.
Is there some test i can perform on the leads to test the relay for proper operation? I do have the service guide but havent found yet any instructions for this.
Both relays have a diagram printed on it. Labels: OMRON 21911C 05269988AA
Thanks.
