[General]: 2017 Chrysler Pacifica
I know this isn't a Chrysler forum per say....but the new Pacifica "minivan" will, at some point, be replacing the Dodge Grand Caravan...
What do you guys think of the new van? Design, features, etc...? Overall, I'm not overly in love with the design. I certainly won't be knocking the dealerships door down for a new one.
Also, I think it was a huge mistake to trash the Town & Country and Grand Caravan name. People are already all confused on the Facebook machine. A lot of people are asking if it's a new SUV and if it will have the same problems the old Pacifica had.

A little more on it. For me - eh, it's ok. Just not in the market for a grocery bag toting people hauler.

Chrysler's big thing is supposed to be the design of this van. They know people look down upon minivans and would rather have a Crossover or SUV, they know people don't want the minivan image.
I just watched one of the videos in the link you posted. Evidently they set out to design this van so it doesn't look like a van at all. So that it's stylish, sleek, and not embarrassing. Honestly I like the look they're going for, especially with the 200 front end. It works. The body...not so much. I hate to burst there bubble, but it's DEFINITELY a minivan and looks as such...lol.
I personally don't care if I drive a van that looks like a van, but the looks of this one don't work for me. (personally). The front end is nice, though. The other thing is, I know pricing is going to go UP. All I can think is "Great, a 50k minivan and its not even AWD".
If for no other reason, I bought my Grand Caravan because it was 20k brand new. All of the competition is 10k more for the base package.
Car manufacturers just do what they think will sell, not necessarily what people want. They're trying to attract the Honda and Toyota crowd. They know those people already pay at least 30-40k.

We were thinking about a new(er) minivan when circumstances required us to buy. Our '05 Caravan SXT was totalled. We weren't looking forward to a $30k price tag, but the fact is that we weren't going to get any kind of decent Dodge or Chrysler for the $20k all in price of the '05. Time takes it's toll on all things - including price. We looked at both the Dodge and the Chrysler and bought the T&C LX. Believe it or not the only reason was power seats - oh, well, getting older sucks. Love the T&C, loved the Grand, too, on the test drive. I think the new '17 Pacifica will grow on us and will eventually be a good seller.
