ok my keyless keys seem not to be working properly. I replaced the battery's but they worked for a couple days. what happens is from far like 20ft they seem not to remote start or anything. I need to go close up to the car to it to work.

 

The first troubleshooting step is to ensure that when you are attempting to start it and it is not working, are you sure that the fob is not near any other devices that may emit a radio signal, such as another fob, a cell phone, etc.

If so, the signals can interfere with one another. There also could be some type of physical obstruction if it still works up close. Do you notice any other conditions when this occurs?

 

Do you have 2 keys? Do they both have poor range?

 

yes both have poor range. they start up vehicle fine by remote or inserting into ignition.

 

The antenna for the keyless is inside the win module. The remote start has an external antenna. So if both have poor range, I would be looking at the key itself.

 

ok tizzy1 thx. I have to do the R3 recall. so I get new keys. 3 in total.
