I have a 2012 SXT and recently all of the lights began slightly flickering when the engine is running. Headlights, dash lights, dome lights, etc. It does it in gear or in park, high or low RPM. However, it does not do it when the engine is off, with just the key on. Only does it when the engine is running. The battery is less than 2 years old. I've pulled the battery cables and cleaned them with a terminal brush. This did nothing.

Any ideas?

 

Bad ground somewhere. Or loose cluster connection.

 

I agree with jkeaton that there could be a loose connection. Does this happen day and night, or do you notice any other specific conditions when this happens?

 

I had this same problem. Sears had put new battery cable clamps on Van. They were not tightened properly. Created a ground/ flickering issue like yours.

 

2012 3.6 ? The alternators are garbage on the Pentastar. That style battery terminal doesn't cinch very well either. Seems like they tried to make a better mouse trap and failed. Is this only when the engine is hot?
