Default Power Steering Fluid 00 Dodge G Caravan

Hi, I have a 00 Grand Caravan 3.3L and am changing the power steering fluid in it. Does anyone know what type of fluid this vehicle will take. Parts stores and internet not helpful The manual only says not to use AFT ... use power steering fluid but makes no mention of what type. I am changing my Chrysler also (same year) and posted on the Chrysler side as well. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Are you sure the owners manual does not state dot 3 or something like that?

I could not find anything in the book but that doesn't mean there isn't something there. Not a well written or constructed book.

I just came across something interesting in my repair manual. It indicts that I should use Mopar Power Steering fluid. None of the automotive stores around here carry this product however Pep Boys in their description for Mopar Power Steering fluid indicate that it is compatible with ATF-4......to me that would indicate that ATF-4 is an equivalent to Mopar for my vehicle. https://www.pepboys.com/product/details/846329/01447

Been using ATF+4 for PS fluid for years in my 96. Works fine.
