Check engine light comes on when going up the bridge, when I stomp on the gas....goes off when I go over 60mph or stomp on the gas. Started about 3-4 months after I had my tranny serviced at the dealership. Has over 82,000 miles on it. Any idea what I can do? Van runs good, gas mileage does not change whether engine light is on or off. Temps are good...RPMs normal. Just the dummy light coming on is unnerving.

 

P0740 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Malfunction

 

I already knew that it was the TCC malfunction. What I need to know is...is that covered by my warranty. If it is not then I will take it to a cheaper place than the dealership. Can not afford $120 an hour labor! After paying out $245 for them to service the tranny, and now having this problem...Don't know that I trust them either.

 

im not sure, go back in and tell them that it was not like this prior to you servicing the tranny. I think what ever they did might disconnected a plug and forgot to re attach possibly don't know. dealer would tell you if its under warranty or not. most give 2 or 3 yrs I think. they may end up taking it in quick to look at. yours like mine without the dipstick? check fluid level too.
