[3rd Gen : 96-00]: Turn signal Problem
Hi
I picked up a Grand Caravan Yesterday and it has a Turn signal Problem. When I got it the fuse was blown for the turn/hazard lights so I replaced that with the fuse for the horn and they seemed to work just fine. After driving for a few blocks the turn signals stopped working half way threw a right turn, so I checked and the fuse was blown again. Today I put a new fuse in and it seemed to be working good, so I took it out for a drive to see if a new fuse would fix the problem. I was making all sorts of left and right turns and every thing seemed to be working good again. But then after about 3 miles I pulled into a parking lot and then made a right hand turn from a dead stop and again the fuse blew half way threw a right hand turn. I put in another fuse in but I am sure that it will happen again half way threw another right hand turn. Could it be the signal switch that is causing this, I noticed that when I move the plastic cover on the steering column the turn signal switch seem to be moving around as much as the plastic cove does. Shouldn't the turn signal switch be mounted to the steering Colum instead of the plastic cover.

Hi
I think I got it, I did more reading and quite a few people were saying to take the trailer hitch wires out, so I did that and it seems to have worked. There were 4 relays hooked up to the wires for the trailer hitch on the diver side and I figure that one or two of them must have gone bad, allowing too much power to be drawn threw the circuit and then poped the fuse.

Hi again
I held onto the trailer hitch wiring, I now need to figure out how to put it back on so it wont pop any more fuses. I know one of the four relays is bad. Anyone know what wires go to what, I figured out what wires are for the blinkers, but thats about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just today found out that the trailer wiring harness was aftermarket, you plug the tail light cable into the trailer harness and then plug the trailer harness into the tail lights. I believe there is a short in the harness and not a bad relay.
