Default Instrument Panel replacement/fix options

Through extensive diagnostics I have eliminated all failure points other than fake analog speedometer gauge in the Instrument Panel.

I'm mulling options to repair.

Easy: use GPS or other secondary speedometer device.

Second most easy buy a new 120 MPH IP cluster and have the correct mileage set at the dealer or have them install it These are the 2 most expensive options.

Third: attempt to repair the speedometer by refreshing the solder points.

Fourth: buy a low mileage IP and keep the low miles or buy a low mileage used speedometer and attempt to transplant the module containing the odometer to the new IP or transplant the speedometer into the old IP.

Any thing I've missed? Any one done any of these besides the dealer solution

I downloaded a GPS speedometer/trip app for my iPhone and set the iPhone right on the steering column for the trip. It worked great and is how I was finally able to definitively isolate the instrument panel as the issue.

Resoldering is probably the best option. I would just hate to take it apart. Resolder and put it back together and still not work.

I did resolve this last summer by installing a low mileage recycled cluster and having it set to a correct mileage. Worked like a champ. It got me through and parted with her at the end of the year for a low mileage 2013 T&C
