I just bought a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan. If I try to open any front door the drivers side power sliding door makes a gear grinding noise for a few seconds even though the door is closed. I am not sure if the passenger slide or the power lif gate make this noise cause the drivers side noise is so loud. If I use the key fob and press unlock first then open a door there is no noise. The power slide doors do work from the overhead switch and the original key fob's. I don't know if it means anything but the van also has an aftermarket remote start and alarm(Compustar) but the slide doors or power lift gate do not work from its remote and probably were never set up for that.
